July 1, 2008 — The Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies (CHESS) and Charter Business Services entered into a contract and began working together at the start of the Center of Excellence in Cancer Communications Research (CECCR) grant in 2004. The reason we chose Charter WI was because of their willingness to move outside their usual business model and give us custom service as needed to arrange for the hundreds of internet accounts needed during the recruitment for the three CECCR clinical trials and the Caregivers study. Charter in WI created a "CHESS Project" team trained to work with us on everything from service requests to billing and accounts management. Charter WI also helped us connect with Charter in CT and in MO. In the height of study recruitment these contacts were at times very valuable to project staff.

The Charter team worked very hard for CHESS and the families we serve. These Charter team members understood the sensitivity of our work and that assuring our families CHESS access was much more than simply providing someone access to the Internet. While not without situational challenges, we were fortunate to have Charter WI as a partner during the CECCR. In appreciation of their efforts a plaque was presented to Charter Business Services recognizing their contribution to the work of our Center.
