CHESS is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. We have taken careful measures to secure both your information and the premises where the CHESS server is located. We exercise great care in providing secure transmission of your information from your computer to our server. Our secure server software encrypts (decodes and scrambles) information while it is being sent to and from CHESS, ensuring that all information remains secure and private.

Access to CHESS is given only through anonymous usernames and passwords. Within the CHESS Blog and Introductions, the information you send may be seen by other CHESS users. Unless you provide personally identifying information within CHESS forms or messages (in the Blog, Ask an Expert, or Introductions for example) your identity is not known to other CHESS users. Please take care in disclosing any identifying information you write in CHESS if you wish to remain anonymous.
