NIATx-SI: Business Practices for the Future Learning Collaborative
Fee-for-Service, Cohort II

This learning collaborative will help addiction treatment providers develop the capacity to bill third-party payers.

The project will offer training on the core components of implementing third-party billing systems, the common areas where billing systems function poorly and improvement techniques that work.

Cohort I Results

Providers who participated in the first round received NIATx coaching and support to either create or improve a billing system.

Participants had a variety of experience in working with third-party payers, ranging from little to none to extensive.

At the end of the ten-month collaborative, all participating teams reported success in submitting claims, increasing collections, and reducing denials from private insurers and Medicaid.

“Through our work with the NIATx fee-for-service learning collaborative, we were able to gain understanding of the complicated Medicaid system and successfully become a Medicaid provider. This new found knowledge and confidence will help us as we navigate the private insurance panels and further diversify our revenue sources.” - Hilary Pick, Clinic Manager, Guest House of Milwaukee Counseling Clinic
