NIATx in juvenile justice: Milwaukee County Delinquency and Court Services Division

The NIATx model can be used to improve systems in any health or human services organization. A fall 2015 NIATx Change Leader Academy gave the Milwaukee County Delinquency and Court Services Division the practical tools it was looking for to understand and involve the customer, adopt evidence-based practices, and use data to measure the effectiveness of change.

NIATx in Primary Care

A pilot study led by Andrew Quanbeck, Assistant Scientist at the Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies and NIATx, is testing a version of the NIATx model in primary care settings. The three-year NIDA-funded study is addressing what medical directors and staff at all levels of many primary care clinics recognize as a key problem: opioid prescribing for chronic pain.

New research grant to focus on recruiting physician prescribers for medication-assisted treatment

Todd Molfenter, Assistant Scientist at the Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies and NIATx Deputy Director, is leading a new NIDA-funded study to address one of the leading barriers to use of buprenorphine for opioid use disorders: lack of physician prescribers.

Published research: NIATx in primary care

The NIATx model has proven effective in addiction and mental health treatment, along with a variety of other human services settings. Can it also be used in primary care? Andrew Quanbeck, Assistant Scientist at the Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies, is leading a pilot study that’s testing how NIATx translates to primary care settings—specifically, to improve opioid prescribing practices.
