Thirty of Wisconsin’s 72 counties have participated in this NIATx project that’s helping reduce hospital readmission rates for people with mental health or substance use disorders.

• How to increase the number of MAT prescribers: A research study led by Todd Molfenter will test strategies to recruit MAT prescribers in Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
• Changing the system to promote use of MAT: Use of MAT doubled in organizations participating in the Medication Research Partnership, a study led by Dr. Jay Ford.
• NIATx tools reduce barriers to MAT in Ukraine: NIATx coach Dr. Lynn Madden helped treatment organizations in Ukraine use the Nominal Group Technique to identify barriers to MAT for opioid use disorders.

Buprenorphine Barriers Videos

The NIATx Buprenorphine Implementation Toolkit now includes a series of five videos on overcoming barriers to use of MAT. In our last video in the series, family physician Dr. Alan Schwartzstein describes why he decided to complete the buprenorphine waiver training.
