Essentials for Health Reform:
Using Networks to Implement and Improve EHRs and other HIT

Regional Training Opportunity

Behavioral Health providers are being challenged to adopt business operations and health information technology systems with very limited resources. There is a need to prepare for increased numbers of patients receiving health insurance benefits, requirements for electronic billing, data exchange among treating providers and an ever increasing need to collect and use health information to improve care.

These intense one-day seminars will provide attendees with the necessary information to understand the basic steps in upgrading HIT systems, provide them an opportunity to network with other providers in their State and/or Region, and plan next steps related to business operations and information technology improvements.

Session presentations and/or materials include:

  • Overview of the CMS Rule on Medicare and Medicaid Incentive Payments
  • Role of EHRs and State of the Art Practice Management Systems
  • HIT Planning and Assessment Process
  • Health Information Exchange and Behavioral Health
  • Use of Web based Client Enrollment Systems under Health Reform
  • Use of Telemedicine
