Does NIATx help with staff retention?

Posted by daveg on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 02:02 PM

The NIATx model of process improvement helps with staff retention first by getting staff from all levels of the organization invested in change. Staff members who are contributing to improving the organization may be more likely to stay. One NIATx organization, Kentucky River Community Care, now includes participation in change projects a part of every job description.

Adds NIATx Coach Mat Roosa: "Many Human service organizations are relatively flat, with limited promotional opportunities. Engagement in a change team can re-energize staff members and give them a newfound commitment to their work. Being able to quantify progress and success is an invaluable motivator that increases staff satisfaction."
