How? Submit an application for the 2013 iAward!

The iAward for Innovation in Behavioral Healthcare Services recognizes behavioral healthcare organizations that are using new approaches to improve service delivery. The award provides a venue for them to share how they have adapted to meet the changing needs of clients, staff, and the behavioral healthcare field.

2012 iAwardees included:

  • Gosnold on Cape Cod, for developing a collaborative training program with a local hospital that reduced average length of stay and ICU transfer rates for patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal while undergoing treatment for other medical conditions.
  • New Horizon Treatment Services in New Jersey, for tailoring programming to meet clients’ recovery needs.
  • Kentucky River Community Care in Hazard, Kentucky, for its pilot project to integrate behavioral and primary healthcare, using an electronic information-sharing system.
  • McLeod Addictive Disease Center in Charlotte, NC, for using technology to improve the registration system for its training program for substance abuse treatment professionals.
  • Youngstown Urban Ministry Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program, for applying the NIATx process improvement model to its prevention program.

The 2013 iAward will recognize up to 10 organizations. Two organizations will receive with an all expense paid trip to the NIATx Summit/SAAS National Conference, July 14-16 in San Diego, plus a $5000 cash award to be used to sustain the innovation. Up to eight additional organizations selected for honorable mentions will also receive an all-expense paid trip to the conference.

Applications are due February 15, 2013.
