Change is in the air at the NIATx Change Leader Academy

What’s on the front burner these days when agencies are picking change projects?

Future change leaders from both coasts and states in between met in Madison to learn the NIATx model and pick their first change projects at the recent NIATx Change Leader Academy. Led by NIATx Educational Services Director Amy McIlvaine and NIATx coach Mat Roosa, the group began the two-day face-to-face training by sharing what they hope to learn through the academy.

Here’s what a few of the participants will be working on:

·       Jessica Kemp from the Brien Center in Pittsfield, MA wants to improve the transition from detoxification to continuing care for opioid-dependent patients starting buprenorphine treatment.

·       Suzanne Verreault, Clinical Director at Antelope Valley Rehab Centers in Acton, CA, is looking for strategies to secure staff buy-in for improvement projects.

·       Roy Viger, CEO of Addiction Recovery Services in Metairie, LA, wants to return to his organization with practical tools for making rapid improvements.

If you’re looking for ideas for your next change project or if you’d like to read some inspiring success stories from other organizations, visit the NIATx website.  And watch the NIATx E-news for stories from new NIATx change leaders!
