NIATx has a new online resource for you: our Buprenorphine Implementation Toolkit.
The toolkit shares lessons that have emerged from recent the NIATx Ohio Buprenorphine Implementation Study, which worked with Ohio payers and providers to increase use of buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorders.
NIATx coaches Linda Frazier, Eric Haram, Matt Roosa, and Chuck Ross helped develop and review the toolkit’s content. It’s organized around overcoming the barriers that providers encounter most frequently when trying to start or expand a buprenorphine program:
The toolkit also features sample forms and a searchable database of news items, resources, and research articles.
Amy Anderson, Director of Oakwood Clinical Associates in Kenosha, WI, was one of the test users who reviewed the toolkit before it went live in mid-April.
“This comprehensive toolkit is the go-to resource to initiate a buprenorphine program,” says Anderson “No need to develop your own plan, everything you need is all in one place.” Anderson’s personal favorites include the video of Dr. Randy Brown describing how buprenorphine works and the checklist to help detect diversion.
Adds Anderson, “The NIATx Buprenorphine Implementation toolkit is organized to easily reference specific topics such as securing buy-in or sample forms. Overall, it is clear, concise, and easy to understand with numerous links for additional information.”
Please visit the toolkit today, and let us know what you find most useful or informative. We will be updating the toolkit regularly with new tools as well as the latest news, information, and research related to buprenorphine treatment.
