NIATx SI Business Practices for the Future Cohort II, Fee-for-Service announces participants

Organizations from across the country have been selected to participate in the NIATx Business Practices for the Future Learning Collaborative, Cohort II. In this project, the “convener” (provider association, fiscal intermediary, or state or county agency) recruits up to 10 local non-profit substance abuse treatment providers. Together, they’ll work on increasing their capacity to bill third-party payers. Some of the partnerships will focus on designing and implementing a billing system. Others will use NIATx tools to improve their existing systems and increase collections.

Cohort II participants will benefit from the lessons that emerged from the first “Fee-for-Service” collaborative, which concluded in July 2011. At the end of that ten-month project, all participating teams reported improvements in submitting claims, increasing collections, and reducing denials from third-party payers.
