Setting Meaningful Improvement Targets

A Change Project requires selecting a meaningful yet realistic aim. Consult with providers to set the pay-for-performance targets. Take care not establish a lax target where everybody gets the incentive or a strict target where nobody gets the incentives. Strive for a realistic target where some but not all providers within the state or system will be able to reach the targets and receive incentive payments.
