NIATx-SI - Spread and Sustainability
Overview

NIATx - State Implementation (NIATx-SI) is a state infrastructure learning collaborative that assists Single State Authorities (SSAs) in their efforts to build and sustain performance improvement systems that ensures quality and accountability.

Cohort 1 - Spread and Sustainability
October 2009 - July 2010

Cohort 1 is focused on the spread and sustainability of state level process improvement work.

NIATx will work with 6 states, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts and New York, building upon their knowledge from previous work in STAR-SI, NIATx 200 and Advancing Recovery.

Each State will work with a NIATx coach as well as take part in monthly Learning Collaborative calls focusing on:

  • Institutionalizing NIATx
  • Building Provider Trust
  • State Level Walk-throughs
  • Integrating Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and
  • Pay for Performance

Participants will also take part in Interest Circle calls focusing on:

  • Data/Feedback
  • Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC)
  • Spreading PI Capacity

NIATx Support, Training and Resource (STAR) Program

NIATx-SI is funded by the NIATx Support, Training, and Resource (STAR) Program which provides technical assistance on process improvement and performance management to States and discretionary grantees that are funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The STAR Program offers a broad range of support services to substance abuse treatment payers, fiscal intermediaries and community based treatment providers.
