Any press release or other announcement should acknowledge both NIATx and the funding agency. For any press release or other announcement, please include the following paragraph specific to your initiative:
The ACTION Campaign II is a cross-sector partnership among NGOs, foundations, and government agencies, including the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), the Legal ACTION Center, and NIATx.
NIATx 200 is a partnership with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), NIATx, 200 addiction treatment providers, and the Single State Authority in each of five U.S. states-Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
You do not need advance review and approval of your press release or other announcement. The NIATx National Program Office (NPO) communications team will be happy to provide editorial assistance for any news item or announcement.
You do not need permission from the NIATx NPO to hold a press conference or briefing.
Please credit NIATx in press releases and when giving presentations about your NIATx-sponsored initiative.
The recommended tag line for crediting the funding organization on publications, PowerPoint presentations, videos, Web sites, etc., is:
Supporting credits: "Support for this (program, conference, PowerPoint, publication, Web site, article, paper, etc.) was provided by a (grant, contract) from (name of funding agency here.)"
For materials where full financial support is not provided by the funding agency: "Support for this (program, conference, publication, Web site, article, paper, etc.) was provided in part by a (grant, contract) from (name of funding agency here.)"
Yes-contact your project director at the NIATx NPO if you have not already received a standard template to use for PowerPoint presentations. The title slide on this template will include the correct language for acknowledging both NIATx and your funding organization.
We encourage you to talk to the media about your work. If reporters have specific questions about NIATx or why your project was funded, please direct those inquiries to your project director at the NIATx NPO.
