May 3, 2012 Reimbursement Reform by Patrick Gauthier
This webinar will explore the many ways reimbursement and contracting are rapidly evolving. Most current public programs (Medicaid and Medicare included) and much of the traditional fee-for-service in private insurance markets pay according to the volume of services provided rather than rewarding providers for the quality of care or patient outcomes. As reform proposals continue to evolve and become implemented, certain reforms will change how care is delivered and how treatment providers are structured, organized and financed to do business with Medicaid expansion plans, managed care plans, commercial health insurance exchanges and accountable care organizations (ACOs). The most common reimbursement reforms include value-based and performance-based contracts, bundling payments for an episode of care, Global Payment, and providing bonus and incentive payments to health care professionals. Other forms of reimbursement that pre-date the Affordable Care Act such as capitation, withholds, and administrative-service-only contracts continue to dominate contract negotiations. Please join us to learn more and explore how and where your organization can be positioned to do business in this environment.
