NIATx-SI: Business Practices for the Future Learning Collaborative - Cohort 1

Overview

The Business Practices for the Future Learning Collaborative will give providers the tools and technical assistance needed to build their business systems and fully participate in third-party billing (Figure #1).

Phase 1: Fee-for-Service

Federal health-care legislation creates new opportunities to increase access to treatment. By 2014, in order to take advantage of expanded coverage that includes addiction treatment, addiction treatment agencies will need to develop business systems that meet the requirements of insurance-based billing (e.g. Medicaid, health exchanges, and private sector health plans).

The program offers technical assistance for billing system design, improved collections performance, and becoming a preferred provider in a network.

The learning collaborative begins in October 2010 and will conclude by July 2011.
